Revelation 5:9 “And they sang a new song, saying, ‘Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.’”
Many nights at the firehouse were spend sharing a meal together. Sometimes, before we finished the meal, we would get a call. That meant that we did what we did our job… run into burning buildings to save lives, property and keep each other safe. The amazing thing about it all was that whether we were sharing a meal or fighting a fire, the color of our skin or the background we came from didn’t matter. Too often we see prejudice displayed throughout life. Some will only share with those of the same background or skin color. Let us be reminded that we are all part of the same family. We all have our beginning with a God who created us as His people. Maybe we should try and treat each other that way.
Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.
Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them.
