Daily Devotional for Tuesday February 27, 2018

Luke 9:62 (NASB) But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God… ”

My wife and I took some time to clean some boxes out of the spare bedroom. It's a room in our house where we store things that we are not ready to get rid… boxes of memories, old clothing that we think one day we will wear again, and odds and ends we have picked up during our 30 years together. It was okay to go back in time and look at them, but it was time to let go and move on. So, we made some piles: one for Good Will, one for garbage, and the pile that we would keep. I wonder if holding on to them keeps us from moving forward. Today's verse shares about looking back. Maybe it's time to get fit for the kingdom of God and move forward. What's holding you back? Are there things in your "storage room" that need to be cleaned out?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
