Daily Devotional for Wednesday February 21, 2018

Psalm 90:17 (NASB) Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.

It's not one of my favorite things to do, but I keep trying. I only paint at home. When the customers would ask if I painted, I would reply no. I tell my wife that it's not one of my gifts. When I paint, it looks like I am back in kindergarten and trying to color inside the lines. Today's verse speaks about asking the Lord our God to be upon the work of our hands. Oh, how I have prayed for the Lord to help me when I put my hands to the paint brush. I have found a little secret that helps me... go slow and steady, and be patient when I make mistakes. I think God has that attitude with us sometimes when we go outside the lines. He is slow to anger and patient with us as we try to get it right. The key is to keep trying and not give up. So, when my wife says that it's time to paint a room, I say a little prayer and begin again. Turning to God to bless the work of our hands and our lives is the best place to start. When was the last time we asked God to bless the work of our hands?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
