Daily Devotional for Saturday February 02, 2019

Scripture:

Revelation 22:5 – “And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.” (NASB)

Observation:

Sad and happy… at the same time. You wouldn’t think it possible to be both sad and happy at the same time. Three years ago, my mom passed from this earth leaving a gaping hole in my life. The sadness remains, and yet, knowing that she knew Jesus brings a happiness that just can't be described. Today's verse shares a little of what mom is experiencing. “No more night, no need of the light of a lamp or the light of the sun because God will illuminate them, and they will reign forever and ever...” What a glorious thought to attach to those we have lost in this world, but it should also bring us to the point of sharing the love of Christ with those who have not heard about the everlasting life available. Do you know Jesus? He is waiting to have a relationship with you. Don't let the past keep you from the present. Ask Jesus today to come into your heart; then seek a Bible-believing church, get a Bible and begin to read the Gospel of John to learn about the love waiting for you. I had to share this cause it's what mom would have wanted!
