Daily Devotional for Wednesday February 14, 2018

Hebrews 13:16 (NASB) And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

I just finished cutting the corners when it occurred to me. While finishing up the countertops in a kitchen, I thought about how sometimes in life we cut corners to make life a little easier. That might be a good thing at times, but never in love. Today's verse speaks of not neglecting doing good and sharing for it pleases God. When it comes to loving others, we never want to cut corners. We need to go the extra mile. The Word says to do it with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Following the example of Christ, going to the Cross for us, we need to give all that we have. In any relationship, love will set us free whether it is a loved one or an enemy. Giving it our all will have a pleasing effect and smooth out the rough edges. Love on someone today, and see what happens!

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
