Daily Devotional for Saturday February 10, 2018

2 Timothy 2:15 (NASB) Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

Left or right? It seemed like we sat there for fifteen minutes. I asked the rookie driver, before we left the fire house, if he knew where he was going. He said he did, but as we approached the intersection, he was less sure of himself. When we stopped, he froze. Today's verse speaks of presenting ourselves approved to God as a workman who is not ashamed handling the truth correctly. If it had been an emergency call, we might not have gotten there in time to save a life or put the fire out before it grew out of control. This was a training exercise, a way to ensure that he was going to be a diligent worker. How about you? Are you sure you know where you’re headed in life? Do you know God's truth and handling it correctly? Maybe it's time to do a little training so you don't turn to the right or left, but go straight ahead.

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
