Daily Devotional for Wednesday February 07, 2018

1 Peter 1:22 (NASB) Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

She said, "I do," and she has every day since. It shouldn't just be for one day, but I try to celebrate my wife every day. She is my blessing; my gift from God, and once a year we celebrate her birth... not just her birth, but her life. How she interacts with others; how she loves, cares, and tirelessly gives of herself to us and others. Today's verse speaks of purifying our souls for a sincere love, loving from the heart. My wife's heart must be larger than most for she loves more than I could ever imagine especially me. She has put up with my faults and finds the love in her heart to keep on loving. It's a selfless kind of love, and for that I am eternally grateful. In life, we should be obedient to what Jesus was and is all about: love. Finding someone that shares that kind of love should inspire us to love others. Who inspires you, and who are you inspiring to share the love of Christ?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
