Daily Devotional for Tuesday February 06, 2018

Romans 15:5-6 (NASB) Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We were just standing there.... waiting. Then we began to cheer. The report came in of a boy trapped within the fire. The chief had made the decision not to send anyone back into the building due to the chance of collapse. So, we stood and waited for those who were still inside to come out. While we waited, we prayed that they had the boy with them. Today's verse speaks of God granting perseverance and encouragement to be of the same mind so that we may be as one to glorify Him. While we stood there, each doing our own part to help put out the fire, we were in one voice hoping and waiting. When the rescue team came out with the boy, we all let up a cheer and gave thanks to God for rescue. Most men try to go it alone, but God wants nothing more than for men to gather together as one, to bring Him praise and glory, and to help one another gain the victories over the struggles of manhood. what team are you on? Who's encouraging you to be of the same mind, to find the victory, to cheer as one, and give Him the glory?
