Daily Devotional for Monday February 05, 2018

Scripture:

Romans 8:28 (NASB) And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Observation:

My plan was to have a wonderful time. One of my nephews was moving out of the area, and I wanted to go fishing with him. So, we set a date. No sooner did we make it to my favorite fishing hole when the sky opened and it started pouring. The weather turned worse with each passing minute, so we packed up and headed back to shore. I felt bad that we didn’t have the chance to fish together, to talk awhile, but as we turned for home, we saw the sun come out. We stopped at another spot and fished. We talked and had a night of it. We have some great memories of that day. Sometimes in life, our plans don’t always go the way we imagined. Things seem to get in the way or stop our plans from unfolding as we want. As today’s verse states, we can know for sure that God causes all things to work together for good. If my nephew and I gave up that day, we wouldn’t have caught the fish we did or have that last great time together. He is in control. We just have to let go of the reigns and keep trying. Don’t give up today, He isn’t.
