Daily Devotional for Sunday February 04, 2018

1 Peter 1:18-19 (NASB) knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

Many times, I have fallen away from a chance to share Christ. It is not something I am proud of. There were times where I knew I would face ridicule and be labeled as one of “those” people. I fell to the lie of Satan that I should care more about myself than God. I fell to the lie that what others thought of me was somehow more important that what God asked me to do. I wonder was my sharing Christ the last change they had to receive Him as Lord and Savior? Did they die shortly after in a tragic accident or natural causes? In either case, I could sit and let that thought keep me in a deep depression. However, life with Christ doesn’t end there. I wake up each day and realize that today is a new day, and if given the opportunity, I jump at the chance to share Christ. No matter where, with who, or when. I want others to know what I know. That they have the best friend a guy could ask for. He never lets me down! No matter how many mistakes I make, He still loves me. When was the last time you shared Him with someone else?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
