Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NASB) And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.
It was the end of the day, and we just couldn't leave them like that. While finishing up after a day of house building, the walls had been set in place, but they wouldn't last through the night unless we put supports on them. Just one support wouldn't do... Today's verse speaks of having support. How two are better than one, and three is better than two. One support on the walls was just not enough in case the wind came. So, we made sure to put additional supports up. Many times, guys try to do it alone. We struggle with this and that only to fail time and again. However, if we have the support of a godly friend, someone to pray for us, with us, to call when the temptations get too strong, and to remind us of the promises of God, we can find comfort and strength. Just imagine what three friends together can accomplish. Don't do it alone. Rely on Christ and the friendships of some godly men around you. Who is on your support team?
