Isaiah 43:19 - “Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.” (NASB)

I wasn't sure what to do. I had placed 30th on the original list for rookie fire fighters; so earlier that summer, I quit my job and waited for the call to join the ranks. Well, that call didn't come as expected. I was to be married in a year and had no job to speak of. The questions began to fill my head: should we postpone the wedding or move out of state? Do I give up on the dream of following my dad into the fire service? I had more questions than answers. Today's verse speaks that God will do something new, it will spring forth. He will make a roadway in the wilderness, a river in the desert... As we face the beginning of a new year, we may find ourselves with more questions than answers. We may be in a wilderness time in our life unsure which way to turn. Trust me when I say that God has a plan. As I look back at that time in my life, I couldn't see the plan God had in store, but having trusted in Him, things went according to His Plan... not mine. I did get on the job, married a beautiful blessing of a woman and have been blessed more than I deserve. Give the new year over to Him. He is planning something new and wonderful for you, but we must have the faith and courage to follow where HE leads. Happy New Year! May His Blessings flow!
