Psalm 30:11 – “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.” (NASB)

The blues, and I’m not talking about music…I have a sure fire way of getting rid of my blues, and I hope that if you too suffer from them that you may try it. You see, I tell people that no matter what you are suffering from take about a half an hour and sit in the waiting room at any nearby hospital. Just sit there and watch as the people and their families come in and out. You will see people who are really suffering. Things that will make you wonder what made you so blue in the first place – like the accident victim with moments to live, the older man waiting patiently for news about his wife who has fallen, or the pregnant teen with a father who is screaming at her that she is an embarrassment to the family. So often the blues come because we make it all about us. As sad as this is, it’s true. The world does not revolve around us. There are so many others who are struggling with so much more than we are... and as today’s verse shares, there is someone who wants to turn our mourning and sadness into dancing and gladness - Jesus Christ. Take a moment and ask Him to help. He will turn your blues into more colors that you ever imagined!
