Daily Devotional for Monday December 24, 2018

Matthew 25:40 – “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’” (NASB)

Every volunteer organization started with one person that had a dream… a dream to help out someone, somewhere. They shared the dream with another and another and before you know it there was an organization started because one person cared enough to act. They cared more about their neighbor more than themselves and isn’t that what being a Christian is all about? It’s about sharing love… sharing Christ. The stories of those who gave of themselves are out there; we just have to dig through the bad news to find the good news of people caring for others and it starts with one simple dream. One of my favorite movies is “A Man Called Norman.” I won’t ruin it for you but it comes down to one man caring for a neighbor. It is a true life story. If you get the chance, watch it. It fits perfectly with today’s verse. I pray that each of us challenge ourselves to find ways to love our neighbors daily. You never know someone reading this may just start the next volunteer organization by sharing the dream that God has placed on your heart. What’s the dream God has given you?
