Isaiah 40:26 (NASB) Lift up your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing.
Have you ever taken the time to really look at the universe around you? It’s not just looking at our planet; it is looking at His universe in all His glory. Today’s reading deals with the stars in the evening sky. I am amazed that even though we do not see them during the day, they are still out there—still shining brightly as if on a dark night. I don’t do it as often as I would like, but to sit with my wife and family on a starlit night is truly fascinating. My wife has studied the stars and can point out different constellations. “Look over there, that’s … and over there is …” It truly is breathtaking, but only if you take the time to look. So often, we allow the many wonders of God’s creation to simply pass by without taking the time to see them. We are so engrossed with our day that we miss HIS day. I wonder what blessings you are looking past as you go about your daily routine. Take some time to really look at the wonders around and say a thank you to our God!
