James 1:5 – “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (NASB)

I should have known the difference. While doing a small auto repair job, I grabbed my ratchet and sockets and proceeded to try and take off a part. The only problem was that I grabbed my standard sockets instead on the metric ones and proceeded to round off the nut on the bolt. I should have known better. Most of the parts on a vehicle are metric, but I was in a hurry and didn't take the time to know exactly what I was working on. Maybe you too have been rushing the job to get it done and found yourself not really understanding what you were working on or with. Today's verse shares about lacking wisdom and asking God, who will give it to all of us without reproach. Wisdom is such an important thing to have as we face life that we may just want to take a moment or two and ask God for wisdom in making some of the decisions we have to make. I can't think of a better place to go when we are seeking wisdom than God. Do we think we are too smart to ask for wisdom? Don't wait till it's too late, start by seeking Him and His wisdom first. It will save a lot of time trying to undo what we thought was right!
