Scripture:

James 4:14 – “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” (NASB)

Observation:

I'll call her back tomorrow... maybe I should do it today. She is 94 and called for some help with her sewing machine. I thought about waiting a day to call her back and then I remembered a recent email I received from the wife of an old friend that I haven't seen in too many years. The email let me know that my friend had gone to live with Jesus. Saddened by the news, I thought of the lady in my neighborhood that called and thought maybe she doesn't have tomorrow so I better do it today. Today's verse speaks that we do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. We are just a vapor that appears for a little while then vanishes away. I cannot get back the time I wish I had with my friend, but I can do something about the living. Although I couldn't fix her sewing machine, the time we spent just talking was a blessing. The reality in life is that tomorrow is promised to no one. We should live for today! Loving those around us, caring for those we call friends, making the most of our time today, not waiting to call back someone in need. We should concentrate on what God would have us do today. We may not be around for tomorrow! May your day be blessed and make the most of it for the Kingdom of God and each other
