Hebrews 3:4 – “Every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.” (NASB)
I stood back and admired it for a moment. We had finished our part of building the house: the walls, floors… roof sheathing was on. It was up to someone else to come in and do their part, to finish the house. There would be plumbers, electricians, drywall men, insulation guys - the list is endless. As I sat there and looked at what we had built over the course of a month, I felt pretty good about myself. Then I remembered today's verse. Although I was one of the many to come and build a house, the ultimate builder of all things is God. It's so easy to think that what we do is all because of us - our gifts and talents, our hard work and sweat along the way, but the reality is that without God, nothing I could ever do is possible. Coming to the realization that God is the creator, the builder of all things including us, means we understand just how insignificant we really are. Yet He loved us so much to send His Son, His Only Son to die for us and raise so we may have eternal life - a life that He has built for us to enjoy. So let's take a moment and simply say thank you to an amazing God. All it takes is a moment to recognize God and become aware of His awesomeness.
