Galatians 5:25 – “If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.” (NASB)

I had to make a split second decision. I knew that if I ever had to face the decision, I would choose a certain path. Not until I was face to face with it, did I realize the difference between living my convictions and walking in them. One evening while out with a few men, we encountered a rather hostile group of men. They were intent on fighting anyone for no apparent reason. We had tried to walk away, but they kept following us, jeering at us, and throwing things at us. I always thought that I would walk away from any situation like this, but as things began to get worse, we began to talk among ourselves about fighting back. Here comes the decision - whether to keep walking away or turn and fight. We had nothing against them. They really didn't hurt us, but the macho man inside us all was getting to the point of wanting to fight back. Today's verse speaks that if we live by the Spirit we must also walk by the Spirit. That means that my actions speak louder than my words. I needed to walk away and keep my friends from doing anything that was less than honorable. What did those bad guys hurt by their actions - nothing! In life, we will have to make a few split second decisions. If we live by God's word and Spirit then we must walk by them also. So when your decision comes which will you choose?
