1 Timothy 5:8 – “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” (ESV)

The giggles echoed through the house. It has been a long time since the laughter of a little girl has filled our house. Our daughters have grown and are starting homes of their own. So when we had the opportunity to allow our family from out of state to come and stay, it brought back many fond memories of our daughters in their youth. She was only three, but no matter where she went, she left a lasting impression. Her parents thanked us over and over for allowing them to stay at our home while they visited. We were honored to have them here, especially Caroline, the little girl with the great giggles and smile. Today's verse speaks to the very heart of what we have been going through these last few days - providing for our relatives. I got to thinking that since we are all decedents of Adam and Eve, everyone is our family. So let's try and provide for all our relatives in some way or another: an open room, a glass of water, giving of our time and talents to share the love of Christ. You never know, you may just come away with a wonderful hug from a three-year-old that will warm your heart.
