Revelation 22:5 – “And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever (ESV).”

I was never a big fan. Even as a young boy, I didn't like them. Even after the loss of a brother firefighter, I still didn't like them, but to many it marks the remembrance of the birth of our country - fireworks. Sure they are beautiful to look at. The lights way up in the sky turning a darkened sky alight with colors and sparkles, but some people are like me.  They don't like the big bangs or the way it makes our dog hide in fear. I couldn't wait till they were over. Today's verse speaks of a time when there will be no more night, no need of light or lamp or sun for God will be our light. “And they will reign forever and ever.” Sometimes in this life, we have to put up with things we don't like turning our head away from things that bother us along the way. There will come a day when we no longer have to face the things we find hard to live with. That's if we know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Sure sometimes it may seem like a flash in the sky, but there will come a day when knowing Christ will be the brightest light in our life. The question is, “Do you know Him?” Have you had an opportunity to accept Him as your Lord and Savior? There will come a time when you don't have any more opportunities. Don't wait for the show to be over. Call out to Him today!
