2 Timothy 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” (NASB)
I should have done more. I was preparing to do a small construction job and hurriedly ran out to get it done, but what I failed to do was the prep work needed. Once I got on location and began the project, I realized that I didn't have everything I needed. I had to make endless trips back and forth for things I should have had with me at the beginning. Today's verse speaks of being diligent to present ourselves approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed. Having to tell the customer that I would be right back time and time again was embarrassing. Maybe you've been there too - finding yourself having to go back time and again to get the needed materials to finish the job. Time spent preparing can make all the difference between doing a good job and being embarrassed. When it comes to the things of God or anything, we need to be prepared rather than being ashamed. Do the prep work; it makes the difference. Spend time in prayer. It will help us accurately handle the Word of Truth! peace, tom
