Daily Devotional for Friday April 27, 2018

Scripture:

Psalm 56:3-4 (ESV) When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Observation:

They are probably the easiest to hear, but the hardest to do. As I climbed over the training tower wall, I heard those words. "Trust me!" shouted a fellow rookie firefighter as we trained in repelling. Looking down over the wall, I wondered if I really did. Sure, I heard the words and the conviction in his voice, but did I really trust him enough to let go and take the leap? Today's verse speaks about being afraid and where we can put our trust. I am not sure at what point I believed him, trusted him, but I found myself letting go and putting my faith and trust in his ability to keep me safe. In life, there will be times when we find ourselves afraid. Yes, even the toughest men are afraid sometimes. Where do you put your trust? When God holds the rope that we are hanging from, there should be no fear. Find the courage to trust in Him; He will never let us fall.

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.
