1 Peter 4:12 “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you.” (NASB)

Some people call it Murphy's Law... After going to bed, a man remembered that he left the light on in the basement and tells his wife, “I’ll will be back in a minute.” About an hour later, he returns to bed. She asks, “What took you so long?” He replied, "I went to the basement to turn off the light and saw the facuet leaking. So, I began to turn it off and broke the valve off. I had to turn the water off to the house to fix the valve. In doing that, I tripped over a box on the floor. When I went to grab something so I wouldn't fall, I grabbed the light fixture by mistake and broke that off." The man finally said to his wife, "After fixing the light, I fixed the faucet, picked up the box, and here I am." His wife asked, "Did you turn off the lights?" He replied, “I'll be right back. Today's verse speaks of not being surprised by the fiery ordeal in which we go through for it is for our testing. In life, we will have times of struggle and testing. The important thing is how we face them. With Christ with us and in the power of the Holy Spirit, we can get an A+ on our tests! Don't forget to turn off the lights!
