Daily Devotional for Tuesday April 24, 2018

John 1:1 (ESV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The list was long, but there was something I needed to do before I got to the list. Many nights, I make a list of things I want to accomplish the next day. Things that I hope to accomplish and a few things from the "honey do" list. I was anxious to get them done. I wanted to get an early start, but I needed to do one thing first. Today's verse speaks about the beginning and what the Word is... it's God! Before I could jump into the list of things to accomplish, I needed to start at the beginning. I needed to start with the Word. Taking time in the morning to read God's Word gives me a better perspective of just what I hope to accomplish throughout the day. It also gives me a sense of who is really in charge. How are you starting your day?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
