Daily Devotional for Saturday April 21, 2018

Scripture:

Psalm 73:26 (ESV) My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Observation:

I could feel the anger building. What was supposed to be a simple installation of some new electronic equipment had me to the point where I knew it wasn’t going to be good. Today's verse speaks that although our flesh and heart may fail, there is a strength we may receive deep in our hearts. I really wanted to throw the equipment thru the window, but I knew deep in my heart that was not the best action to take with my anger. I know that it's okay to be angry, but it's what we do with that anger that makes the difference. After stepping away and taking a moment to look deep in my heart, I found the strength to try and solve the problem. If I was to let my anger get the best of me, I would have been the problem. Turns out, the equipment was bad. In life, we will face those stressful situations that may cause our flesh and heart to fail, but if we hold Christ deep in our hearts, we can find the strength to get angry and not react.

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
