Daily Devotional for Friday April 20, 2018

1 John 1:9 (ESV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

It's never an easy thing, but once it's done. While working on a construction site, one of the guys inadvertently cut the cord for the saw. He could have just set it aside and walked away. Today's verse speaks about one of the hard things for us men to do... confess our sin. The man who cut the cord, came forward and told the supervisor, who had one of the electricians repair the cord. No big deal, but for the young apprentice, admitting his failure was a step in the right direction. The rest of the crew knew we could count on him. Each of us face that challenge to be truthful, to admit our sin, confess it, seek forgiveness, and then move forward. Easier said than done, but once done, life will be easier. Is there something you need to come clean about in your life that may be holding you back?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
