Daily Devotional for Thursday April 19, 2018

Scripture:

Acts 4:12 (ESV) “… And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Observation:

It wasn't a matter of if, but when. Heading out for a family vacation, we immediately ran into trouble. I could see on the faces of our daughters that the trip may be canceled. Each looked to me and seemed to ask "if" we were going to make it. Today's verse speaks about being saved by no other name than His. I looked at the girls and said, "We are going to make it, I'm not sure when but we will!" We may not be sure when it will happen, but each of us will face eternity. The question isn't if we will; the question is when will we. Like the verse states, there is no other name given to us men by which we must be saved. Do we look to eternity with the same childlike attitude of going on vacation? We picked a vacation place of beauty and enjoyment. Why wouldn't we want to pick that type of place for all eternity? Do you know the name that will save you?

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
