Daily Devotional for Sunday April 15, 2018

2 Peter 1:11 (ESV) For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sometimes we get so caught up in our own life that we forget we have been called, chosen by God, to be part of a bigger family and to share eternity in heaven. It is a gift and nothing we do can get us a ticket there. It was paid for by Jesus. We can get so wrapped up in our problems and day-to-day life that we easily remove any thoughts that this is not the finish line. My children say to me, “Dad, it’s always about Jesus with you,” and my response is, “Yes. Is there anything else?” When we die, what can we take with us but our relationship with our Heavenly Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit? What are we going to do today that will keep in mind that Heaven is the finish line?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
