Daily Devotional for Thursday April 12, 2018

Ephesians 4:13 (ESV) until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

We had to work as one. Each of us had been on other teams. When those teams folded, we came together to form a new team. Yet, when practice started, we worked as individuals. Today's verse speaks of uniting in faith, to mature manhood, to the measure and stature of the fullness of Christ. Sure, we could have kept playing as individuals, but what would we have accomplished? It was a team sport and that meant each of us had to put aside our individual abilities and work as one unit and realize we were better together than apart. Sometimes in life, we chose to work as individuals with our own set of goals, but when we join forces, united in faith and maturing into the manhood of Christ, then we see amazing things through the power of the Spirit. Are we willing to let go of ourselves and join forces with Christ and each other?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
