Daily Devotional for Wednesday April 11, 2018

Philippians 1:6 (ESV) And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

My dad taught me well. The wind was blowing the waves over the front of the boat and the rain was in my eyes. However, I knew if I kept the boat on course, I would eventually make it to the dock. Today's verse speaks of staying the course because He will bring you to completion. Too many times we come up short. Maybe it's because we don't know who is behind us. There are family and friends wishing us the best, some are even praying that we hold steady to the course we are on. I knew my dad was praying as he threw the last rope into the boat and said, "Meet you at the dock!" He had all the confidence in my ability to get there safely, and so does our Heavenly Father. We just need to stay the course. Don't give up... He will bring us safely home!

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
