Daily Devotional for Tuesday April 10, 2018

Philippians 4:13 (ESV) I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

“I can do it daddy; just one more try.” While moving some things around in our attic, I came upon a small bike that one of my daughters used to learn to ride a bike. As I thought back to those days, running beside her, picking her up, cleaning her scraped knees, I thought about how she never gave up. Today's verse speaks about finding the strength to go on and do all things. In the movie spoof of Star Trek, called Galaxy Quest, the main character uses one of my favorite phrases, "Never give up, never surrender!" When we walk with Christ, we will find the power from the Holy Spirit to do just that. Like a little girl finding the strength to learn to ride a bike, a person running into a fire to save someone, or a father leading his family in prayer, we can do ALL things through Christ! What are you going to ask Christ for the strength to do today?

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotion: Read this chapter with your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them and discuss. Pray with them.
