1 John 4:12 (ESV) No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
Another community will experience a tragedy. The sad fact is that it will happen again – somewhere, sometime. Whenever I hear about these stories, I can’t help but wonder did anyone share Jesus with them? Did anyone care enough about them? I’ll bet each of us can think of one person who is hurting – whether physically or emotionally. I’ll bet that we can think of one child who seems a little distant than the rest. I’ll bet that we all know one person who could really use a smile today. We are the ones to do that. However, it will take us to come out of our comfort zone and walk with Christ in boldness. We’ll have to risk being hurt ourselves so that others may feel better. We can say the words, “I care.” But do we really? Are we living for others or it is all about us? We cannot do it alone. Christ will give us the strength and boldness in His Spirit to love one another. If you are the one hurting – take the chance and reach out to someone. Call a friend. God doesn’t want any to perish. There is HOPE in Him.
