Matthew 14:29 (ESV) He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus.
At the start of the practice, I asked one boy to open in prayer, "But I've never done that before..." and he wasn't too sure how to do it. Today's verse talks about Peter having the courage to do something he had never done before. No matter what, I always begin by praying. So, when we started basketball practice for the team I was coaching, I asked one of the boys to pray. His response is one I have heard many times, even by adults. To pray in public can make even the strongest man in a crowd feel a little nervous. I simply responded, "It's just talking to Jesus," and the little boy stepped out in faith and prayed. Peter was asked to step out of the boat to walk on water… What is God asking you to have the courage to do to step out of your comfort zone?
