Eight to five. Five days a week. 40+ hour work week. Overtime and the lack thereof. Back to work on Monday. I’m sure glad it’s Friday. The boss is away, the mice will play. Performance reviews. Hourly pay. Salaries. Raises and bonuses and the lack thereof. Can you think of a few other work-related terms?

Why Give Money to the Church?
Money! We love to make it, spend it, save it, give it… “Wait a minute,” you say. “Give it? That’s my money you’re talking about. I earned it and I will decide how I spend it, save it, and do whatever I want with it. But just give it away. I don’t think so.”
Money, sex, and power are three of the hottest of hot-buttons for men. Number one for many guys is the almighty dollar. I guess it comes with the competitive nature with which many of us are born. We drive hard, sell hard, and perform hard all to get a buck. -
Techies for Jesus
A few months ago, I wrote about how one aspect of technology, computer games, can hinder you spiritually if abused. Any technology or invention has similar potential to hinder you. However, technology is neutral and can be used for either good or bad. This month I want to look at ways you can use technology to increase your spirituality.

Blooming Where God Puts You
It's that time of the year when people all across the country plant gardens. From these gardens, they gather fresh food later in the year. But that harvest doesn't just happen. After planting, the gardener waters, fertilizes, weeds, and inspects the plants every day. If he didn't, he wouldn't have a harvest, and all his work would be for nothing. -
Legacy
As a father of four grown children, I often reflect on what my children will think of me years from now. What will they share with their own children about the heritage they grew up with? What will they want to pass on to the next generation? It is an awesome responsibility, a responsibility that is clearly taught in Proverbs 22:6, “Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
