Christians can become so focused on their eternity, they forget to see the need of those around them who have not experienced God’s love and forgiveness.
Matthew 9:35-38 shares how Jesus saw the multitudes of people and had compassion on them. The Bible says His heart broke for them. He looked past their exterior, past the “everything looks fine,” and saw people with real life issues. He told his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields” | Matthew 9:37, 38.
“The Bible clearly shows that personal witnessing is not restricted to a few who are especially gifted for evangelism. We are each responsible to share our faith with those outside the body of Christ. We are all to be the salt of the earth, the light of the world and branches of the Vine – to affect those around us.” | Randy Hurst, Evangelism Commissioner

Do Tell

Now you have to know Christopher, my 12 year-old son. I’ve never been around anyone who asks as many questions as he does, and not just your typical pre-teen questions. Christopher questions, as I so affectionately call them, are filled with great insight and inquisitive thought.

Evangelizing American Cities
What does it take to change a city? More money? Better schools? Promise Keepers conference? Political programs? Billy Graham crusade? A highly trained and motivated police force? While any of these initiatives may alleviate the symptoms, they do not offer a sustainable solution. What is the antidote? Is it even possible to reach an entire city for Jesus Christ?
