When we accept Christ into our lives, we become a part of His church. This doesn’t refer to a specific building or sign above the church building. The church is a group of people that have committed to follow Christ.
Being a part of the church is important for several reasons: For the purpose of going into all the world and telling the story of Jesus; to be a corporate body in which we may worship God; and to grow spiritually, fellowship with other Christ followers, receive instruction from the preaching of the Word and to find rest for the believer.

What I wasn’t ready for was the greeting I received walking to the sanctuary. “What are you doing in church today,” one said. “I thought you were on vacation?”
