Faith

  • An A for Effort

I am no artist. Even my doodles are low quality. The only people who think they are worth anything are my sons, age 3 years and 18 months.

The other day, the eldest asked me to sit on the couch next to him. He then handed me his Magna-Doodle and said, "Draw Rex." He was referring to the character Rex from Toy Story, a Tyrannosaurus Rex. My drawing of Rex looked more like a sick pigeon than a T-Rex

  • Walking by Faith, not Fear.

The difference between a church characterized by velocity and one that is not is often the difference between faith and fear. It is the line between stepping out and holding back. It is the line between control and empowerment. It is the line between taking action and thinking about it.

  • Dog-like Man or Man-like Dog?

Often we have heard someone say, "Sometimes my dog acts almost human." However, it is doubtful you will hear that same pet owner say, "You know, sometimes I act like my dog." Don't hold your breath waiting for that one. But we do - more frequently than we care to admit.

  • Dealing with Disappointment

Are you going through something in your life and wonder where God is? Do you find yourself debating if living the Christian life and serving God is even worth it? To be honest with you, I have been experiencing these feelings in my own life. I think if we were really honest with ourselves, we would all admit to thinking this way at some time or another.

  • A Christmas Miracle

You may not see it as a miracle. You could just call it His provision. His blessing. Others may not believe that the Lord even concerns Himself with such things.

  • Your Mission

“Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to impact people for God’s Kingdom.”

  • Turning Bored Men Into Bold Men

God has instilled this craving for legacy in every man. One of the greatest passages for men in Scripture is found in Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

  • Your Church Has A Porn Problem

Many of us have discussed pornography from the pulpit or offered events...to teach people about the dangers of sexual sin...But, for those in your congregation who have a problem (man or woman), is there a safe place for them to find help?

  • What We Have Here Is... Failure To Communicate

Rarely has anything so simple become so complicated. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and I was wrapping up my week's vacation with a day of complete inactivity. (How that makes it different than just about any other day is anyone's guess.)

  • The Adventures of Faith Man

Batman and Bruce Wayne - The Incredible Hulk and Dr. Bruce Banner - and lately, Iron Man and Tony Stark. Two definitive sides of the same person. The one can do battle with the forces of evil and come out on top every time. The other, without the benefit of their superhuman powers, would be just another victim on the villain's path to world domination.
