Psalm 34:8 (NASB) O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
The journey we take as Christians is an uphill walk, and the transforming of who we are in Christ is an inside job. The transforming power of coming to know Jesus as our Lord and Savior and the walk we take must start deep within ourselves. If it doesn’t start there, then our journey will be down a path that will lead us in circles, and we will never get anywhere. For me, if I don’t start it deep within myself and searching it out in God’s Word, I am destined to repeat it until I get it right, or I should say until I get it God’s way. So often I find myself getting busy in life that the time I used to take to meditate on God’s Word gets lost in the shuffle of things. That’s never a good thing. I need to make the first part of my day for God and His Word. Like today’s verse states, take refuge in Him, then I will taste and see the goodness of the Lord! Things just naturally seem to get better throughout my day, but it must start by putting in time with Him. How do you start your day?
