Luke 18:16 (NASB) But Jesus called for them, saying, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
I remember pushing her in the stroller and on the swing, pushing her as she learned to ride a bike, but one thing I did not push her to do... Allow me to get a little personal as I am reminded of the birth of our second daughter. I still remember it like it was yesterday. As we have watched her grow up into a beautiful woman, I can't help but think of the memories of her growing up. Today's verse speaks of what Jesus called for... children, to come to Him, and for us not to hinder them for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I remember pushing her at many times in her life, to be better at school work, at volleyball, but I was always careful not to push her to Jesus. Too often we try to push people to Jesus instead of just showing them His love in real life ways. She does know Jesus, but not because I pushed her. She found Him by the love we shared with her. So, if you're trying to share Jesus, don't push, just love. It works so much better that way.
