Luke 10:29 (NASB) 29 But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
For over 20 years we have lived in our present house, I have had difficulties with one neighbor. I have tried numerous times to share with him, to befriend him, to try and find some middle ground, but at each opportunity it ends on a sour note. I am not sure why this happens, but he is not very well liked in the neighborhood. I have tried to write him off, pretending that he is not there, but each day there is something in my spirit that tells me to keep trying… that each time I see him is an opportunity to share the love of Jesus, and so I will keep trying. I could very easily stay to myself when I see him, but that is not the example Christ has set before us. So, I will keep on keeping on, because despite the difficulties we have, God still loves him and sent His Son to show him love. We must do the same. What opportunity is before you this day that will let you answer, “Who is my neighbor?”
