Daily Devotional for Monday December 18, 2017

Scripture:

Luke 10:26 (NASB) He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”

Observation:

Reading God’s Word and accepting it on His terms… Do we even open the Bible? Do we own a copy? I remember the first time I highlighted in my Bible. A truth of God’s Word jumped off the page. So many of us don’t take the time to read His Word. We spend countless hours reading other things: newspapers, sports books, and novels, etc. Guess what, the Bible has all of that and more. Don’t read it for all that stuff though… Read it for what it is—the VERY WORD OF GOD. Are you afraid of what He might say to you about how you’re living?

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them.
