Daily Devotional for Thursday August 10, 2017

Scripture:

Colossians 4:8(NASB) For I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts;

Observation:

Help finally arrived. Our crew worked through the night to fight a rather large fire. We were exhausted, tired, and hungry. When another crew was sent to help, we were encouraged. Today’s verse speaks of Paul sending another faithful servant to help others. He was sent to share what Paul was going through and to be an encouragement to others. Sometimes in life, we will be in situations where we could use a little help. We may be the ones sent by God to encourage others to keep going. Eventually, the fire was put out. We went back to the fire house knowing we accomplished our goal. Be encouraged or be an encourager today. You may just be the help someone needs to accomplish what God has asked them to do. Follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, that’s the key to know where to go and when. That’s if you are listening for His voice. Are you? peace, tom

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them
